Description
The Dhanvantari Pashupatam Homam is a Vedic ritual dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari, who is considered the divine physician in Hinduism. This homam (fire ritual) is performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari for health, well-being, and the prevention or healing of diseases. It is believed that Lord Dhanvantari emerged during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) holding a pot of Amrita (nectar) in his hands, signifying the boon of immortality and good health.
