Description
The Garuda Purana is one of the eighteen Mahāpurāṇas, a genre of ancient Indian literature. It is a text of the Vaishnavism tradition and primarily focuses on Lord Vishnu and his mount, Garuda (a divine eagle). The Garuda Purana is divided into two parts — the first part deals with cosmology, mythology, and genealogies, while the second part is known for its description of the afterlife, funeral rites, and rituals.
A “Garuda Purana Path” refers to the recitation or reading of the Garuda Purana. Performing a Garuda Purana Path is considered a religious and spiritual practice, and it is often done for various reasons, including seeking blessings, spiritual purification, or performing rites related to death and the afterlife.
